This 25-minute interactive video for KS2 comes with extension learning activities to consolidate the links to aspirations and the world of work, including ideas for those classes who already used the videos last year, where children can put themselves in the shoes of volunteers and flex their reflection, design, numeracy, literacy and drama skills!
Following our popular What’s My Line job-guessing game format, children meet:
- Katie the brand manager of a wrapping paper company
- Jason the craftsman at Buckingham Palace
- Andrew the Christmas tree grower
- Jane the Christmas decoration shop owner
- Oliver the warehouse manager for Crisis Christmas centres
(But ssshhh! Don't tell children as their job is to guess the roles of our festive guests!)
This resource contains:
- 25-minute video with optional pause points for glossary, questions and discussion
- Learning activity pack with downloadable PowerPoint slides, worksheets, quiz and extension ideas for children to reflect on the volunteers’ talks and explore their own skills:
- Festive Futures drawing competition template
- Guessing game recording sheet
- Plenary quiz and reflection activity
- Design wrapping paper
- Compare your height to a Christmas tree
- Choose the colour scheme and design for the Downing Street Christmas tree
- Write a fable
- Tips on how to plan your own live aspirational activity with Primary Futures volunteers.
